For a more remote and lesser-known hideaway, plan an expedition to the Glover River in Beavers Bend, which flows out of the Ouachita Mountains through a heavily forested area lined by steep bluffs and towering pines.
The river is a prime spot for fishing, especially for channel catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass and sunfish; and boasts exciting Class I and II rapids for rafting, canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts.
