Here at Lucky Dog, we provide a laid-back tube float on the lower Mountain Fork River. Our trip is 1.7 miles long. On average, the journey will take you approximately 2 hours to float when the river is at normal levels. Our services include your tube rental, parking, life jackets, and shuttle services. We offer a cooler tube that is square and used to float your ice chest in. We honor all military, law enforcement, fire department, and nursing discounts with ID provided.
There is no time limit on how long you can float the trip. Feel free to tie off and relax and soak up the sun. There are plenty of shallow places to hang out and swim around. Some folks even treasure hunt. The age registrations are 56 and up. No glass or styrofoam is allowed on the river. We provide trash sacks and rope to tie together. Small ice chests (45g or smaller) are ideal as we have stairs you will need to walk down, and there will be a little walk to the main river.
The Mountain Fork river is used to produce electricity. This means that the Corp of Engineers will release water into the river from Broken Bow Lake. When this happens, it causes the river to rise tremendously. Sadly, on occasion, this will cause us to close early. Most of the releases happen during the week, and unfortunately, we only know these schedules 24 hours at a time. We do our best to keep this posted on our Facebook page.
For our customers’ safety, we adhere to the stopping times so that you can still enjoy afloat before you need to be off the river safely. Never fear though, if you get to our location early enough, you still have plenty of time to make your trip a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
We are located approximately 30 minutes from Hochatown. We recommend using Apple Maps for best directions, but if using Google Maps, proceed to Facebook for the pinned address for the most accurate directions.
