The Lookout Mountain Trail is approximately a 2.2 mile trek with a little rocky incline. The trail features a beautiful forest setting, with a hike that takes you up in elevation with stunning views from the top. The trail is located in Beavers Bend State Park with access located off state highway 259A. The Deer Crossing Trail connects the Lookout Mountain Trail with the Cedar Bluff Nature Trail.
This is a pleasant wooded trail that offers a couple of small lookouts into the valley. The best time to enjoy the views is during fall and winter when there is less leaf coverage. However, some sections of the trail might have unclear markings, and it could get muddy after rainfall. There are a few moderately challenging climbs, and you’ll need to cross a couple of small creeks along the way.
