Beavers Bend State Park Rules & Regulations

How to keep our State Park beautiful, safe, and fun for everyone.

Why We Have Rules in the First Place

We know—rules aren’t the fun part of your trip. But here in Beavers Bend Cabin Country, they’re the reason this place stays as gorgeous as it is. These guidelines help protect the wildlife, the land, the lakes, and the good vibes so everyone can enjoy them for years to come.

Protect Nature (and Let Nature Do Its Thing)

  • Every tree, shrub, and even that “just dead wood” you see plays a role in sheltering and feeding wildlife.
  • Don’t collect plants, nuts, berries, wildflowers, rocks, or fossils.
  • Don’t catch or keep wildlife.
  • If every visitor took a “souvenir” home, there’d be nothing left to admire here.

Don’t Feed the Wildlife

We know it’s tempting—but people food isn’t good for animals.

  • Handouts make wildlife dependent and can make them lose their natural fear of humans.
  • Some, like raccoons and deer, can get aggressive.

Observe, Don’t Disturb

  • Keep pets on a leash (max 10 feet).
  • This keeps both your pet and wildlife safe—some animals here can carry rabies.

Leave History Where You Found It

  • Cultural or archaeological resources must stay put.
  • Metal detecting requires a use permit from the park manager.

No Graffiti, Please

  • No carving, marking, or writing on trees, rocks, buildings, or signs.

No Fireworks

  • No fireworks. Period.

Keep It Clean

  • Dispose of waste, sewage, and gray water properly.
  • Gray water can cause algae blooms, harm fish, and attract pests.

Handicap-Accessible Campsites

  • Reserved first-come, first-served for guests with a handicap placard or proof of disability.
  • Non-handicap guests may use them only if they haven’t been claimed by early evening, and only on a night-to-night basis.

Be a Good Neighbor

  • Keep your music down during the day; Quiet Hours are 11 PM–6 AM.
  • Keep pets leashed and never leave them unattended.
  • Don’t overcrowd campsites. One RV site = one RV (plus one small children’s tent).
  • Don’t block other visitors’ access.
  • No obscene language, disorderly conduct, or disturbing the peace.
  • Alcohol over 3.2% ABW is prohibited; under-21s can’t drink at all.

Safety First

  • No glass in swimming areas.
  • No swimming within 100 feet of boat ramps or docks.
  • Firearms allowed with proper carry license, but not in state office buildings.
  • Obey all traffic signs and speed limits.
  • Golf carts allowed for visitors with a physical disability (with verification and certificate), on roads 25 MPH or less.

Litter is Not Welcome Here

  • No glass on beaches.
  • Use trash receptacles and dumpsters.
  • If you pack it in, pack it out.

Fire Safety is Everyone’s Job

  • Build campfires only in fire rings—never use gas or kerosene to start them.
  • Use only dead branches found on the ground (no cutting live trees).
  • Keep fires small, never leave them unattended, and fully extinguish them before leaving.
  • No non-burnable trash (glass, cans) in the fire.
  • During dry spells, campfires may be prohibited altogether.

Thanks for being a courteous park guest. Have a safe and wonderful visit!
